1Ti 2:2-6

1Ti 2:2  Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 1Ti 2:3  This is good and pleases God our Savior, 1Ti 2:4  who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1Ti 2:5  For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 1Ti 2:6  He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

In Matthew we are to told to go into the world and preach the gospel. Sometimes I feel that is easier to do than to pray for our leaders but here we are being requested to do just that. When they declare war on another nation. When the pass legislation to allow marriage to people other than a man and a woman. When they support the places that abort children it becomes hard to believe that your prayers are being answered. What we do not know is what God wil do with those prayers.
Rev_5:8  And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
Rev_8:3  And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
Rev_8:4  And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
God can do a lot with our prayers We are the saints everyone who has accepted Christ is considered a saint in the bible. We need to pray for God's plan to be worked out as he sees fit. Did you ever think you would be considered a saint? What Jesus did for us on the cross was so much more than we ever imagined.
